So much going on but I must take the time to say "Happy Thanksgiving". I seen a wonderful sign the other day at church that said..."We don't need more to be thankful for, we need to be more thankful". Isn't that the truth! Excitement...

I can't believe I haven't added a blog since May...and you know what else is surprising... I am almost done with orders from Minneapolis Quilt Market. So yes, the show was wonderful and my new pattern line was well received. I met many wonderful shop owners who were so filled with excitement. They can see that the economy is turning around and their customers are filled with excitement too. They were anxious to find new items for their customers. It was just wonderful to feel that excitement with them.
So I hope this blog finds you full of excitement in your life whether it is quilting, reading, drawing, cooking, etc. We are so blessed....Blessings, Rhonda

Trusteth...

The other day I wrote this on our chalk board which hangs above the phone.
"Who so ever trusteth in the Lord, happy is he"...Proverbs 16:2.
My little Maria who is 7 just could not understand what this meant. I tried to explain it saying that if we trust God with all our problems, he will make our hearts happy. She accepted and went on her way. I love the acceptance that children have. I learn so much from my children. They say they want to be like me someday and I say I want to be like them again. May I accept what God has given me and feel the happiness!!! Blessings...Rhonda

Snow in April...

Only in Wisconsin would we get snow in April. We awoke this morning to about 3-4 inches of snow. And honestly, it was kind of beautiful. It had clung to every tree and branch. Maybe it is beautiful because I know it is going to be gone in a few hours!
I think sometimes God knows we need a cleaning so we can start fresh. Untouched snow is so fresh!!! So maybe I am the only person in Wisconsin saying...thanks God, I needed that today. Blessings..Rhonda

Easter HangOVER...

I guess saying Easter HangOVER should be "OVER the top with Candy"! Why do I feel I can eat all the black Jelly Beans I want on Easter? I always pay the next day. Since I was a little girl, black Jelly Beans were my main mission for finding my basket. So as I sit back today and try to work, I stare at the left over beans that I did not find yesterday...they are calling me. Someone ... plug my ears!!! Hope your Easter was filled with the innocent thrills of childhood joys!!!  Blessings..Rhonda

My Turn....

NO...you will see no pics of me here of how I looked before surgery but my husband really tried!!! Yes, it was my turn for surgery last Thursday, March 18th. I had a hysterectomy. It was one of those things that needed to be done and I am glad it is done. However...I never thought I would be in this much pain and so unable to do many things! I have new BIG respect for any woman who has had a C-section...how are you able to take care of a baby after it? You woman are amazing!!! I could sit here and complain all day but I won't because there is still hand-stitching I can do!  To all woman who have had this surgery or a C-section...you should be honored!!! Blessings from my chair...Rhonda

TV...TV..TV

Did I say TV?
Did you hear that?
My RagSpuns were on TV!!! Don't believe me... check it out here http://www.fox11online.com/dpp/living/create-your-own-gift-bags.

Yes I am a little excited!!! Julie's Sewing Center here in Wisconsin occasionally does a segment on a really neat morning show. Julie showed how easy it is to make gift bags for Valentines Day. She used my RagSpuns to accent the bags. Julie is a very good instructor and makes everything look so easy! Her 2 stores are wonderful to shop at too. Here is her website.... www.juliessewingcenter.com   I "Thank" her for choosing my RagSpuns for the accent pieces. It made my Valentines Day extra "SWEET"!
Sweet Blessings...Rhonda

My favorite...

Do you have a pic that you just love? Well, I have always loved this one..not sure why! I remember it was a crazy day with the kids. My good friends, Jay & Janeal Fullmer came over to take the first pics of my RagSpuns. After the shots were done, Jay suggested I sit down and get a quick family pic. I felt so relaxed by this time! If you ever need a pic taken that is unique, special and different from an ordinary pic, check out Fullmer Studio www.jamesfullmer.com, you will be so satisfied! He is truly a gifted artist.

Sister-in-law Inspiration...

Where do you get inspiration from?
I found this adorable snowman hanging on my sister-in-laws tree.  Isn't he just the cutest? I took several other pics too. Lately you will find me going everywhere with my camera. It is that time of year when I am looking for inspiration for some new patterns. Last weekend, my oldest daughter Abbey and I hit Pier One and took lots of pics. Next weekend we are heading out again...can't wait to see what we find hanging around! I know we will find the local Chinese place too.
